In November you probably see a lot more facial hair around. In fact – you probably know someone who is going to spend the month ahead shunning their razor and tending to their new moustache. Yes – it’s Movember month!
Whether they are riding solo or it’s a team effort, a nice treat for the end of November like a massage, facial or spa trip would be a lovely way to show your appreciation. Or you could take a hint further and get them a wet shave….
You might think that spas are a ‘female’ activity, but not in 2018! Things are changing and male grooming has boomed in popularity!
Would a man enjoy a spa trip?
There’s a new man about town and in advertising, that’s the multi-dimensional man. He’s characterised as a man that is 25-35, loves adventure at the weekends and is image and health conscious, spending time and money on a skincare or his fitness regime, as well as buying products. Do you know someone like this?
In fact, in a recent study, only 2% of men felt ‘strong resistance’ to buying cosmetics and make up for their own use – something we wouldn’t have seen a decade or two ago!
From having a good quality shave and haircut, to steam facials and manicures, a visit to a traditional barber has become a weekly or monthly must for many men. On top of that, they are buying more. 2017 saw a huge rise in the amount of sheet style face masks and thanks to Chris Pratt, Justin Bieber and P Diddy who have all worn them on Instagram, now it’s pretty normal for a man to consider a weekly or bi-weekly mask. A spa treatment is a perfectly reasonable treat for most men!
On top of that, beards are in – and during a Statistica June 2017 survey, 25 percent of respondents aged 18 to 29 years reported using beard care products every day to tend to their facial follicles.
